This Privacy Policy explains how CookJar ("we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use cookjar.app and our services (the "Service").
1. Information we collect
- Information you provide: your email address and the answers you give in our onboarding questions (such as cooking habits, dietary preferences, and goals).
- Payment information: processed directly by our payment provider, Paddle.com. We do not collect or store your full card details.
- Usage & device data: collected automatically, such as IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and interactions, via cookies and similar technologies.

3. Advertising & analytics
We use the Meta Pixel and Meta's Conversions API to measure the performance of our ads. This may include sharing hashed identifiers (such as a hashed email) and event information with Meta so we can attribute conversions and reach relevant audiences. We also use PostHogfor product analytics to understand and improve the funnel. You can limit tracking through your browser and device settings and through Meta's ad preferences.

We share information with service providers who process it on our behalf, including:
- Paddle — payment processing and Merchant of Record;
- Supabase — database and storage;
- Vercel — website hosting;
- Meta and PostHog — advertising measurement and analytics.
We may also disclose information to comply with the law or in connection with a business transfer. We do not sell your personal information for money.
5. Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service and for legitimate business or legal purposes, after which it is deleted or anonymized.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR and CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, email support@cookjar.app.
7. Security & international transfers
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. Our providers may process data in countries other than yours; where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
